Do I need a bookkeeping partner for my past books?
Kick handles your current and future transactions automatically. Getting your historical books up to date may require additional work, depending on your situation.
You likely don't need a partner if your business has no payroll or loans and you're comfortable importing past transactions manually using Import Transactions.
A partner is worth considering if:
You need data older than 2 years - Kick retrieves up to 2 years of transaction history via Plaid. Older data or closed accounts need to be imported manually.
You have payroll history to reconcile - each tax year requires a manual payroll reconciliation via journal entry. This is specialized work most business owners prefer to hand off.
You have loans - each loan payment needs to be split between principal and interest. If you have multiple years of loan history, a partner can complete this accurately and efficiently.
